Biography
Dr Mojtaba Lashgari joined the University of Oxford as a research fellow in May 2023, working with Dr. Abhirup Banerjee's group in the IBME. His research focuses on real- time analysis of multimodal cardiac imaging data to develop automated AI-based tools for optimal patient care in catheterization labs. This system aims to transform current workflows by automating the identification of coronary blockages, measuring severity, estimating blood flow, and assessing myocardial perfusion. He completed his PhD at the University of Leeds in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Alejandro Frangi and Prof. Jürgen Schneider. As an early career researcher funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, he developed an in-silico imaging framework for microstructure-sensitive myocardial diffusion-weighted MRI. His PhD research explored the intersection of computational modelling and diffusion-weighted MRI.
