Biography
Daniel Powell graduated from the Department of Engineering Science, Oxford in 1996 and obtained an MSc from Imperial College in 1999. Daniel started his career designing cryogenic systems for super-conducting magnets with Oxford Instruments. He then joined engineering consultancy Arup in London and has been an engineer in their Specialist Technology and Research Practice for over 20 years. He has worked across a broad range of projects in the built environment and has developed particular expertise in structural dynamics and the design and analysis of offshore structures.
Daniel joined the department in Oxford as a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor in 2021 in an undergraduate teaching role.
