Biography
Dr Baran Bozyigit studied civil engineering at Ege University. He obtained an MSc in Structural Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University (Turkey) in 2015. He successfully defended his PhD thesis “Free vibration and harmonic response analyses of continuous parameter frames by using single variable shear deformation theory and dynamic stiffness method” at the same university in 2020.
He was a visiting PhD student at the Department of Engineering Science of the University of Oxford in 2019, focussed on dynamic amplification in masonry arch bridges subjected to moving loads, under the supervision of Prof Sinan Acikgoz. He was supported by a national postdoctoral fellowship programme and started his second research in the Department of Engineering Science of the University of Oxford in February 2023. His current research interests include seismic behaviour of historical masonry buildings, non-contact vibration measurement of bridges, dynamic soil-structure interaction for offshore structures.
