Biography
Lorenza is a DPhil student in the Visual Geometry Group, working with Dr Joao Henriques and Dr Christian Rupprecht. Her DPhil is aimed at analysing sports health through images and videos and is funded by the Podium Analytics Institute for Youth Sports Medicine and Technology.
Before starting her DPhil, she worked as a Computer Vision Engineer for Disperse.io, a London based startup, for more than 3 years. She obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Information and Telecommunications engineering from the University of Padova in Italy.
Research Interests
Lorenza is investigating algorithms for scene understanding applied to sports. Her goal is to develop models that can detect potentially dangerous situations and collisions between players across a variety of different sports activities, especially for non-professional and young players.
