Biography
Dr. Joyraj Chakraborty, a machine learning researcher, specializes in acoustic signal processing, data fusion, and non-destructive evaluation. He obtained his PhD from Silesian Technical University, Poland, under the prestigious Marie Curie fellowship. His impactful journey continued at the University of Essex, where he significantly contributed to the enhancement of industry products, such as Narrow-band digital personal radio systems, using ML techniques. Currently as a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University's Department of Engineering Science, he remains at the forefront of technological innovation. His work focuses on advancing machine learning applications, especially through transfer learning and ensemble models.
During his time at KU Leuven, Belgium, and the University of Twente, Netherlands, from 2014 to 2017, he also contributed to the fields of indoor acoustic localization and FBG sensors for asphalt systems. Furthermore, he holds the position of visiting research fellow at the University of Essex.
