Biography
Prior to his position as a Postdoctoral researcher in AI for Healthcare, Dr. Alexander Vasilyev received interdisciplinary experience in various research projects.
During his study at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), he joined the drug design company Gero.ai Ltd., where he was involved in research in condensed matter physics. After completion of MSc in Applied Math in MIPT with Honors
Alexander joined the Ph.D. program in Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London in 2015.
During his Ph.D. Alexander developed the reinforcement learning-based approach to the modeling of human eye-
movements, which elegantly explains their statistical properties given only limitations of human visual and oculomotor systems.
In his new position as a Postdoctoral researcher Alexander aims to contribute to the core projects of the CHI laboratory with his skills in machine learning and time-series data analysis.
